(If driving the Tube station will be on your left).
Turn left when exiting the tube station, walk towards the traffic lights, you will get to Cold Harour Lane (On your Left) cross strait over,  Then turn right and cross the road into the side of the centre church, turn left amd walk to the traffi lights, cross over to the little island, and again untill you get to St Mathews Road.(Turn to your right and walk down the continuation of St Mathrews Road- This will be on your left). Walk all the way to the bottom of St Mathrews Road, Mango Landin will be on your right.

Salsa comes to Marylebone High Street.

 As part of the Marylebone Summer Fayre on Sunday 18th June.
 There will be salsa playing from 11.00am when the fayre opens.

Nelson Batista will be dj-ing outside of 12 New Cavendish Street from 2pm - 5pm. 

Come and dance, eat, shop and have fun in a great part of town.

           Carnaval del Pueblo
                   6th August

The largest Latin American Festival in the UK features the very best in Latin American music. With artists flown in from South America, this massive event is attended by over 60,000 people.

    Procession leaves The Mayor's office, City Hall, Tooley Street, SE1 at 12 pm – past London Bridge, down Borough High Street, left into Walworth Road and left again into Albany Road and Burgess Park at 3:00 pm.

    Floats and dance rhythms inspired by the carnivals of Brazil , Bolivia , Colombia , Cuba , El Salvador , Mexico and Peru amongst others.

    Carnaval del Pueblo (CDP) will be a 10 hour-long, exotic, FREE , family event welcoming babies through to grand parents! Dance, music and carnival activities will be enjoyed in a peaceful and stimulating Latin American cultural context. The carnival has a history of attracting world-class stars including the Grupo Niche, Oscar D'León , Willie Colón , Adalberto Santiago, Henry Fiol and Gilberto Santa Rosa - the salsa greats as well as Lizandro Mesa, Mauricio y Palodeagua .


     

 
 06/08/06    The Fruitstock London 
           Festival



takes place at Regent’s Park from Saturday 5th August – Sunday 6th August. The festival runs from 12pm – 9pm on both days and is free to attend.

Fruitstock is a huge, free, open air party in London hosted by Innocent smoothies. Celebrating its third birthday in 2006, the two-day festival attracted 110,000 people in 2005 and is expected to be just as popular this year. Londoners are invited to join the party and share in laid back summer fun at Regent’s Park.

A line up of live acts will take to the stage at Fruitstock, with an eclectic range of performances for the crowds to enjoy. Fruitstock 2005 saw the likes of Giles Peterson, Nate James, Nitin Sawhney and the London Community Gospel Choir, performing live on the main stage. Expect laid back summer sounds in the sun, with a bit of jazz, funk, latin and hip hop to groove to. A DJ tent will also be open where you can go for a little dance, before heading back to the main stage for live music.

- At Corner of Goldbourne & Portabella Rd keep walking up Portabella Rd with your back towards the bridge, walk past the food stalls and keep strait on Portabella Rd, you will hear and get to the salsa section.

Regent Street Festival - A Walk through Spain

The 2006 Regent Street Festival will take place on Sunday 3 September, 12 noon – 8.00pm.

On the day of the event, Regent Street will be closed to traffic and 16 of Spain’s regions – Andalusia, Aragón, Asturias, the Balearic Islands, the Basque Country, the Canary Islands, Cantabria, Castile-La Mancha, Castile-Leon, Catalonia, Galicia, Madrid, Murcia, Navarre, La Rioja and Valencia, will be showcased to create an environment and atmosphere true to the spirit of Spain. 

Live entertainment such as Castellers; a time-honoured Catalan tradition of spectacular human towers will display their talent, Andalusian dancers will give dancing lessons, a huge dish of paella from Valencia will be made and al fresco dining will be enjoyed with Spanish flair.   There will also be Bagpipers from Galicia and Asturias, a Carnival Festival from the Canary Islands, wines from La Rioja and Castile-Leon, dancers from the Basque Country, handicrafts from the Balearic Islands, food from Cantabria, fashion and “fiesta” from Madrid and much, much more from Aragón and Navarre.

Regent Street stores will also take part in the fun and festivities, providing in-store entertainment, food and wine tastings and special promotions on the Sunday.  For example Austin Reed, Zinc Bar and Grill, Uniqlo and the Living Room will all have dancing instore.  Wine Tastings will take place at D&A the opticians, Austin Reed and Habitat. Beauty makeovers at Virgin Cosmetics, Molton Brown, Liberty, Esprit and Crabtree and Evelyn.  Throughout the day there will be fashion shows, competitions and promotions.

The 2006 Regent Street Festival is sponsored this year by the Spanish Tourist Office.   This is part of Visit London’s festival month and is backed by the Mayor and Transport for London.

       Thames Festival

Thames Festival dates:

Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September 2006

commissions high-profile, cutting-edge arts events for unique environments on and around the river. It also showcases the best in street arts, with pyrotechnics, illuminations, art installations, river events, street theatre, massed choirs, circus and music. Tens of thousands dance in the streets at the festival's climactic event, a spectacular Night Carnival that's a vivid mixture of masquerade, dance, music and fantastic costumes.

The festival takes place right in the heart of London between Westminster Bridge and Tower Bridge on the River Thames, on the river banks and on the adjacent riverside walkways and public open spaces.
