Classes We would like to advise all our weekly customers of the forthcoming festive season closures at the school. Our last class before closing for Christmas period will be on Tuesday 21st December. There will be no classes on the following days: Classes resume on Salsabuzz Live Salsa & Jazz Extravaganza Firstly, we would like to thank all of you that attended on Saturday 4th December to celebrate Salsabuzz’s first ‘Special’ Event. It was a successful night. There were a couple of artist delays, but the feedback is that people enjoyed the evening. We are sorry for the artistic delays which infringed on the salsa section of the night, we intend to make this up to all our fellow salseros at the next event. “Once again sorry!” Kiddies Salsa - FEED BACK Comments:- 'Kiddies Salsa session was without doubt the highlight of the day.' 'The kids were so enthusiastic not to mention very quick to learn the steps.’ 'Adults, watch out for these budding Salseros!' Response :- In the New Year we will look into running classes for kids and will advise you of developments soon. Live Jazz & Buffet - FEED BACK Comments:- 'I didn’t realize it involved such good musicians and music'. ‘At first I was unsure how it would all fit, but now I am totally converted.'
‘Next time I will invite my friends and family, I don’t want them to miss the next one.’ ‘The band played soulful jazz.’ ‘The band and the food were superb.' |
The ambience of evening transported you to events very rarely found outside of the
Live Jazz was supplied by Afterglow Blu and Edison Herbert. For those of you that missed this sit down part of the day, you missed a treat! Live Salsa - FEED BACK Comments:- The band was fantastic, and they are without a doubt one of the better Salsa bands out there. A Few General Comments:- 'The salsa tunes were a bit long!' The performance times of live salsa bands are generally longer than the traditional CD time which is far less. 'We didn’t get a dance!' For those who are relatively new to the salsa scene, please see our guidance notes on salsa etiquette. 'Those dancing looked really good!' Don’t be intimidated by all those good dancers – remember – THEY WERE LEARNERS ONCE BEFORE and how else will you improve if you don’t get on the dance floor.
'You’ve finished too early!' Unfortunately we were confined to the time of this particular venue, it is the first time that we have had to finish a special at 'The venue was too hot/cold!' It had been a very cold week but even after we switched the heating off in the early evening it took quite a while to cool down. We did not open the external doors due to potential noise pollution however we did have two powerful fans strategically placed around the room. ‘Can we get a lesson with Nelson Batista?’ Yes, Nelson has agreed to teach an advance lesson for a future event. A big ‘THANK YOU!’ I would like to thank all of those behind the scenes, the team, the compare, the band, the caterers, the teachers and the guests for making the night happen. Watch out for the next ‘Special’ – Keep checking the website for details. Finally we wish you all a merry Christmas and New Year and we look forward to helping you to shed the additional pounds added when classes resume in the New Year. |
