Newsletter No 01

7th November 2004

Firstly, I would like to thank you all for attending our weekly salsa classes on Tuesdays at Enfield Grammar School.

Because of the opportunity that was presented at Enfield Grammar School I have had to proceed sooner than planned. All the usual setup stages which are normally in place prior to a start date, have had to be carried out in the first month during the start of this venue and we are still on catch up.

As with all new ventures there have been a few teething problems, one of which is ensuring that people know we are here and how to find us.

We will be working on resolving these issues through local advertising, distribution of leaflets, word of mouth and of course the website.   All this takes time so please be patient and stick with us.

Classes

The classes are designed to ensure that you get the most out of the lessons in terms of both learning and fun.  Although no formal syllabus exists our ethos is around creating a programme that focuses not only on the technique of dance but also the execution of the dance with an emphasis on body movements and styling. We will also be teaching rueda casino wheel, Cuban style, rumba, on top of the normal cross body style salsa.

Feedback has suggested that the starting time may well be a problem for all you hard working people out there.  In response to that, we have made the following amendments to the schedule of times:

7.00 pm          Doors open – networking & socialising

7.20 pm          Warm Up

7.25 pm          Classes

8.25 pm          Warm down

Followed by; dancing until 10:00 pm.

NB

Whilst we will always try to accommodate late comers by slotting them into groups, please be aware that we don’t wish to spoil the enjoyment or hold up progress of those already in the class so please try to be as punctual as possible.

For those that feel they are too late to turn up for lessons please turn up for social dancing after – see discounts on website www.salsabuzz.com.

The Teachers

I believe that you have some of the best teachers in London at your disposal and they are here for you.

Feel free to contribute towards the class and interact with your teachers and fellow pupils.  Speak to your teachers if there is something you would particularly like to focus on or have difficulty with.

Finally details of our entire weekly and up and coming ‘special’ events and discounts can be found on our website www.salsabuzz.com

Regards
